Williamson County, TN Real Estate

Williamson County's Rich History:
Early settlers to Williamson County began to arrive in the late 1700s and take up land that had been granted them in reward for service in the Revolutionary War. As the population grew, several good schools began to appear across the land. This helped to create notoriety for the area.
In 1799, the Tennessee General Assembly founded Williamson County, and the populace kept growing. By 1861 the county was the 3rd wealthiest in all of Tennessee. The thriving economy was bolstered by rich soil farming, the timber industry, and livestock.
The Civil War took a major toll on the farmlands and economy of Williamson. The battles of Franklin in 1863 and then the larger more famous Battle of Franklin in 1864 are two examples of the many battles fought in Tennessee.
Today, Williamson County is beautiful and thriving. It is now the wealthiest county in Tennessee and one of the wealthiest counties in the country. In 2010 Forbes rated Williamson County as #17 in the top 25 list they published.
